I've always had some strange ones, not always for their stats in game.
Primape: is an example of such.
Scizor: I've liked since it's original unveiling back in the day.
Steelix: similarly, iunno I guess the whole steel type thing made me go all "WHOOOOAAAH DOOD"
Squirtle's evolution line, especially Blastoise: as my first pokemon he always has a place in my heart [tear stained eye goes here]
Machamp: He's made of manly and reminds me of Goro from Mortal Kombat, so nostalgic reasons made me take a like to him.
And Weavile's a pretty cool guy, eh spams shadow balls and doesn't afraid of anyone, unless they're a fighting type who isn't slow as shit.
