In this thread we are going to talk about movies!
Post your favorite genres and titles!

I'm a huge zombie movie and game fan, so i've watched a lot of zombie movies and i saw that they have something in common with L4D series, i'll start with my top 10 zombie movies:

The Best of all: DEAD SET - no comments, just awesome

1. Dawn of the Dead (2004) - It reminds me of Dead Center campagin, becouse most of the time the survivors are in a big shopping mall!
2. I am Legend (2007) - Doesn't realy remind me of any campagin since the place is New York but it sure is one great movie!
3. Residen Evil 2: Apocalypse - Is one great movie where zombies arent the only thing thats bad!
4. Zombieland (2009) - Reminds me of Dark Carnival, cuz the ending of the movie takes place in a Carnival!
5. Day of the Dead (2008) - Reminds me of Death Toll campagin, cuz the place is a little town and the survivors try to go through it!
6. Resident Evil 1 - Takes place in a deep underground laboratory and its pretty awesome movie!
7. Resident Evil 3: Extinction - Kind of a short movie compared to the other resident evil movies but its nice!
8. 28 Days Later - A fast zombie action movie!
9. 28 Weeks Later - Not very interresting like the first one but great!
10. Shawn of the Dead - A comedy zombie movie!
11. Land of the Dead...

But beside Zombie movies i like Action, Adventure and Comedy!

I love Shaun of the Dead, it's a brilliant zombie film. You should watch Hot Fuzz if you liked Shaun of the Dead. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are in it again and it's much better in my opinion. Not that Shaun of the Dead was bad anyway!

My favourite films are Hot Fuzz, Harry Brown and Anchorman.

We do analysis on films in Media Studies which is great fun; it's even better if it's a film you really like. One time, we got to analyse Hot Fuzz, it was great. Very Happy

You should talk to Rorschach about zombie films, he loves them.

I really like zombie movies too - I've watched every movie that Leo posted Very Happy

I freaking, freaking love this scene from "Zombieland" xD

But still it ain't my favorite movie

I'll say one thing... "The Godfather (Trilogy)"

I adore "Vito Corleone" - HEIL! xD

I mean... Everything is PERFECT in those movies, the actors, Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro; The music, composed by Nino Rota [Love Theme <3] | The story, the action, the drama :O

I cried at the end of the third movie Razz

Yep, I can vouch for Sherlock Holmes, it's an amazing film. Robert Downey Jr is one of my favourite actors. I pretty much like any film he stars in. Smile I really wanna see Book of Eli as well.

Anyone seen Avatar...? I'm just wondering if anyone likes it at all. Me personally, I don't plan on seeing it unless my mom gets it on DVD or something. Just seems like pretty colours and that's it.

I saw the begining of Avatar and it was quite interessting.
The story is: Future base on some planet where plants and animals/insects are huge so people have to enter machines that control a bigger form of humans "avatars" and fight these animals/insects to survive on that planet which they use as a fuel resort... this is just the story that i was able to see in the first 10 minutes of it!

You are probably the first person that has mentioned plot details when I asked about Avatar. Razz Everytime I ask about that film, it's usually about the graphical effects.

If you get the time, I would also suggest Anchorman along with Hot Fuzz. Anchorman is more of a quirky comedy, I don't know if it's your sort of humour, but Brick Tamlen the weatherman is really funny. Razz

I don't really look for the effects myself in films, I'm more partial to the dialogue or the story; that's why I like Anchorman, Hot Fuzz and Harry Brown. Anchorman and Hot Fuzz are hilarious and Harry Brown is brilliantly written in my opinion.

I loathe how Avatar is one of the most successful films ever when the story is in the league of mediocrity and is only 'good' because of the pretty pictures. They're planning a sequel already you know. Neutral

I've just started watching Anchorman but i realized that there are 3 Anchorman movies, so which one is the real?
I've already watched one till the near end and it was quite good and funny Smile "Good Night San Diego and F... You!" has to be the funniest line i've heard and when the weatherman holds a handgrenade and screams around Smile

Movies!

I am a big movie fan, I love zombie films. However, my favourite film is Watchmen.
Here is a list and some of the story, I recommend watching all of these because they are good.

Watchmen - It is based off the graphic novel, it is about a bunch of vigliantes who have retired due to a law. Now they are under threat due to nuclear war, and a certain evil character. So they unite again, and fight. Also, it's where from I got my online name.

28 Weeks Later - This is my favourite zombie film, it is a sequel of 28 Days Later. The US military are cleaning up the UK after the wave of zombies hit, the outbreak comes back and lots of people die.

Qurantine - A news reporter has been given the task of following fire fighters for a report. They are taken to an apartment building because of calls of a lady becoming highly vicious, they are then put under qurantine by the police. She is a zombie, you can bet what happens.

28 Days Later - This is a great film, although the sequel is better. The "Rage" virus gets out and people who get infected by it turn into zombies.

Dead Set - This is a british film based on the TV series of Big Brother. The zombie virus gets hit outside but the housemates don't know of this. Then they get a new housemate who tells them about it, and then you watch them to see what they do.

I suggest watching all of these movies, they are great films.
Here are some trailers to see if you would like them.

Don't watch Transformers, it's a terrible film. It wasn't up for a Razzy Award for nothing.

I need to watch more zombie films, the last one I saw was Zombieland and that was 'alright' in my books.

Also in movie news, there is a Mortal Kombat movie being made, so for those who are fans of the series and perhaps liked the movies (lol), then that's something to look forward to. Razz

Personally my Favourite films are...

Man On Fire - which has Denzil Washington ( Ithink? XD) in and illustrates Mexican child kidnapping for money. Amazing film, Cry every time Very Happy
The Dark Knight - Heath Ledger's Amazing performance.. I also loved the Joker before this ;P
Watchmen - As Rorschach said above ;P
The Nightmare Before Christmas - Animated film directed Tim Burton, About a skeleton (Jack Skellington) who is the pumpkin King of Halloween town. But he's bored of that life and accidentially wanders into Christmasland and wants to be like that! Very Happy (Yeah it sounds lame.. but sooo good xD)
Corpse Bride - Similar to above.. Bar this time a Man accidentially asks a ghost to marry him Very Happy
La Haine ("la Aine")- French Film so subtitled.. But it's about Problems in the paris suburbs. Very good.

I think I've forgotten some.. but that'll do for now ;P

Britt, have you ever watched Amele? I'm sure that's a french movie. Regardless, it is really good.

Only subbed movie I know is Pan's Labyrinth and that's in Spanish. I found it funny when people went to see it at the cinema and were like "What the hell?! It was in Spanish!" Uh... Duh. Razz

It was released in episodes in UK (On television), but eventually released as a movie (On DvD) with all of the episodes together. Whichever you fancy, it's pretty long because of all the episodes. I would say watch the whole movie though.

Also, Watchmen. It's awesome... watch it!
